Sundar Pichai-1-1024x630Buffett declared that he intended to give over 80 percent of his wealth to charities. Buffett increased his donation to 99.9% in 2020. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation which was established by Bill Gates and Melinda (the Microsoft founder) was the primary recipient. The foundation was focused on education and global health. Bill and Buffett had been friends since the 90s. Other charities that received donations included those run by Buffett's children, and the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation named after his late wife. The foundation was focused on reproductive health of women and funded college scholarships. In 2010 Buffett and Gates formulated the Giving Pledge. This pledge encouraged other wealthy people to give a large portion of their fortunes to charities.
